Personal Profile

Chng Hak-Peng is Managing Partner of Devaro Partners. He works with leaders and investors on improving leadership effectiveness in the execution of business and corporate strategy. He has 15 years of leadership and management experience in Southeast Asia, China, India and the United States of America, with seven of those years focused on the private equity industry and mergers and acquisitions. His specialty is working with the management team of companies newly-acquired by private equity funds, and with CEOs working towards fund-raising.

Prior to founding Devaro Partners, Hak worked at a private equity fund. Aside from pre-investment due diligence, he spent significant time setting up and running an operational portfolio company in Singapore. Prior to that, he also spent eight years with management consultants Bain & Company working with CEOs and private equity funds on strategy and execution. At Bain, Hak won awards for leadership, coaching and mentoring. Hak's formative experiences in leadership were as an officer with the Singapore Armed Forces and with the Singapore Administrative Service. Hak's community involvement activities include serving on the Nominating and Executive Committee of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and serving as a senior officer with the Singapore Army reserves.

Hak holds an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineeering with Honors from Stanford University. Hak coaches in English and Mandarin.
