| Earlier this year, the ICF announced that beginning April 1, 2013 all ICF members will be required to have completed at least 60 hours of coach specific training to be a member (or maintain membership) with the ICF. To allow adequate time for all current ICF members who have not completed the required training, ICF has developed a Provisional Member category. Current members will have one year to obtain 60 hours of coach specific training prior to the policy taking full effect on April 1, 2013.
For more information on each membership category click link below. Also beginning April 1, 2012, an ICF Student Membership will be available for new ICF members. The ICF is in the process of developing guidelines to acknowledge that ICF membership requirements may be met by a competence equivalency of coaching credentials awarded by other organizations. Definition of Training that is accepted as coach specific training:
Please ensure your coach training meets the 60 hours of coach-specific training needed to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for ICF membership is aligned with the requirements for the ACC Portfolio Application credential path. |
