Masterful Listening For Deep Impact - 10 things to be listening for

"We say what we say and people listen what they listen.  In between their speaking and your listening is the potential for a thousand things to go wrong."

The traditional view of communication is based on the assumption that listening is basically "to grasp" the content or real meaning issued by the communicator through the words used in the communication process.  In essence, communication is likened to a radio with a transmitter sending a signal and a receiver receiving, but not altering, that signal. As a coach, you know there is so much more to listening.

You know that are a multitude of things to be listening for in a coaching conversation.  You know that your own biases and filters can disrupt the signal and throw you off center.  Listening is, in fact, one of the most important things a great coach does. Unfortunately, most of us were never taught how to listen well or deeply nor were we taught what to listen for to generate more impact.

Join us for this thought provoking and interactive exploration that will expand and deepen your ability to coach and lead.  We will:

  • Challenge the myths and long held assumptions of listening
  • Consider how your own perspective on the world - your world view - filters and impacts your listening
  • Present and discuss 10 things to be listening for in your coaching (and yourself)
