Next Peer Coaching Meeting – Wednesday 16 October 2013

Dear ICF members,

We hope that you were able to participate in our Peer Coaching demonstration event at last Monday’s monthly meeting.  We were able to run three simultaneous sessions and give everyone an excellent introduction to the power of Peer Coaching

Please mark down 16 October and come join us for the next Peer Coaching session.

What is Peer Coaching and the value of attending?
Peer Coaching is a forum for professional coaches to share expertise, learn from other skilled practitioners and to get ‘unstuck’ in challenging coaching situations. It’s for coaches who have the desire to continually refine and build their professional skills, learn from others and want to contribute to the professional development of all coaches attending.

It involves following a facilitated process whereby a Case Presenter presents a current or recent coaching case and the Peer Coaches provide different perspectives on this case through questioning, remarking, summarizing and empathizing, but……not advising.

Please note that Peer Coaching sessions are only for practising coaches who are an ICF member and have a minimum of 60 hours coach training.

We will need Case Presenters who are willing to share their cases. So if you have an issue you would like some Peer Coaching on, please let us know in advance (peercoaching@icfsingapore.org) and we will follow up with you privately and provide you, when needed, with an example of a case.

As Peer Coaching involves coaches sharing real cases, we want to ensure confidentiality and therefore we will ask you to sign a confidentiality agreement upon arrival.

We look forward to welcoming you this to this engaging evening!

Peer Coaching is back! At our next monthly meeting we will offer a firsthand experience of Peer Coaching, facilitated by Denise Pang, PCC.

After a brief introduction and overview of the value of Peer Coaching, we will break into smaller groups and engage in a real Peer Coaching session so that you can experience the benefits for yourself.

What is Peer Coaching and the value of attending?

Peer Coaching is a forum for professional coaches to support each other to get 'unstuck' in challenging coaching situations, share expertise and learn from other skilled practitioners. It is for coaches who have the desire to continually hone their professional skills and contribute to the professional development of fellow coaches.

It involves following a facilitated process whereby a Case Presenter presents a current or recent coaching case and fellow coaches provide clarity and different perspectives by practicing active listening, powerful questioning and reframing. Facilitators will be present to guide this process.

We will need at least five case providers who are willing to share their cases. So if you have a coaching challenge that you would like some Peer Coaching on, please send an email to peercoaching@icfsingapore.org and we will follow up with you directly with more information.

As Peer Coaching involves coaches sharing real cases and we want to ensure confidentiality, you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement if you wish to participate.

All are welcome to attend this kick-off session. But please note that the regular Peer Coaching sessions are only for practicing coaches who are ICF members and have a minimum of 60 hours coach training. More information on the venue, timings and costs of the regular sessions will be shared during the evening.

We look forward to welcoming you to this experiential and engaging evening!

Brenda Bence, Harvard MBA and ICF certified coach, will show you five existing assets you already have that you can use immediately to successfully market your business and build your brand as a coach. Literally dozens of strategies are available to you for at little or no cost. You just need to know where to look!

In this interactive and engaging session designed specifically for coaches, you will benefit from Brenda's 30 years as an international marketing and branding expert as well as her extensive experience as a senior executive coach.

Session Overview

Designed at Harvard by Professors Robert Kegan & Lisa Lahey, Immunity to Change™ is based on the groundbreaking work that identifies why personal development is so difficult and how to identify and overcome the natural barriers therein.?Why is it that we often want to change, but find that we are unable to do so? Why is change so difficult even when everyone and everything is aligned around the goal? The reason is that most of us have a built-in immunity to change.

This fast paced, energetic, and transformational workshop will help participants better understand their own immunity to change.? Based on their research in adult development theory, Robert Kegan and Lisa Lahey have developed an innovative teaching methodology and activity called Immunity to Change™. This workshop is an awareness-building exercise that makes explicit that which is currently implicit. Immunity to Change™ helps participants better understand their competing commitments and truly begin to understand the motivation behind behavior and why change, with all of the best intentions, can be so difficult to master. Amazingly this session provides participants with the opportunity to “investigate, research, study, teach, practice, and implement the theories and strategies” behind Kegan & Lahey’s work.

To benefit fully from the session, you are encouraged to bring along their own improvement goal that has proved particularly resistant to challenge for you. You will will work during the session to produce a 4 – column Map which will expose their your Immunity to Change™.
