 EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Organisational and Relationship Systems Coaching™ (ORSC™) is the 1st ICF systems based accredited coaching programme (ACTP) by CRR Global.  It is founded more than 15 years ago. Join us as we strive to offer an insight into some of ORSC™ philosophies such as systems based approach and relationship systems intelligence.

No person is an island. We are all part of complex systems such as families, business partnerships, teams, organisations and communities. They are like spider webs; touch one strand and the whole structure moves. This is a key tenet of Systems Theory. This can be disconcerting for those of us seeking to coach an individual to become more effective. We can do great work with the individual only to find an unintended impact (good or bad) on the individual’s team, family, department, colleagues or organisation. Many of us have had the experience of working with an individual towards growth only to find that their colleagues, family, team or organisation powerfully resisted that change.

Organisation and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC™) is different from working with individuals in that ORSC looks less at individual behaviour and more at the interactions between individuals. Organisation or relationship systems have a natural drive towards evolution and/or resolution. An ORSC coach has one primary job: to reveal the system to itself. By helping the system to see itself – its strengths, its obstacles, its potential – the ORSC coach can create the groundwork for the system to find its own answers.

ORSC founders Marita Fridjhon and Faith Fuller worked for more than 15 years with teams, couples, organisations and families. They trained in multiple modalities to create a body of work which combines the best of cross functional approaches to working with systems. ORSC represents a blend of: general systems theory, process work, constellations, emotional and social intelligence, organisational development theory, interest based bargaining, Co-Active coaching and Positivity research.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

The 2016 ICF/PWC international survey of coaching practices has just been published. Over 15,000 coaches responded from 117 countries across the world. This was by far the largest study of coaching practices ever conducted.

The objectives of the study include (but were not limited to):

  • Obtain profiling information on professional coach practitioners as well as profiles on managers and leaders who use coaching skills.
  • Gain an understanding of the main types of coaching specialties used by coaching practitioners.
  • Determine estimates of coaching fees and revenues by type of coaching, region, and global total.
  • Obtain information on how coaches use their time (coaching clients, preparing, marketing, etc)
  • Identify Industry Trends and assess attitudes toward a range of challenges and opportunities facing the coaching profession.

Because Singapore coaches responded in overwhelming numbers we have been give access to the Singapore and Asia data to compare to the global results.

The presentation will focus on comparing Singapore to the regional and global results in order to be able to describe where we are in relation to coaching in the rest of the world.

Speaker Bio

Hermans_DitzigThe presenter will be Hermann Ditzig, the current president of the Singapore Chapter. Hermann started his professional research career as a psychiatric epidemiologist working in Departments of Psychiatry in US Medical Schools studying the social derivatives of mental illness. A five year study of the influence of work on mental well being resulted in a career change to studying organizational design and development, with a focus on the impact of the quality of leadership on performance and organizational commitment.

Hermann joined the Singapore Chapter ExCo three years ago and started the Research Committee because of his belief that to be a true profession, coaching needs to be ‘evidence based’ and that we as a chapter need to support research based knowledge acquisition and generation through the conduct of novel research projects.
